The divvy program looks at the file system names for all disk drives.
On disk 0 you already have a /dev/u1
On disk 1 you can add a /dev/newu1
/u1 is a directory that is filled with the data that resides on /dev/u1 when you mount the file system.
See post #43 for the details of moving the data from the old u1 to the new u1.

I'm running solaris 2.5.1. My main development server is DEAD, i can't even boot off the cdrom, it powers up, acts like it is starting the boot process but then says cannot find boot device. anyone know where I can download or get a boot disk for sco unix v/386? I have an old PC running sco unix v/386 3.2. I dont have an install or boot disk. I need to reset the root password. NOOB here. I attempted to use smit mkcd. Failed on first attempt, not enough space. 2nd attempt tried to place iso on /usr, not enough space there. Cleanup ran for about 5 minutes after aborting. NAME
devinfo - print device specific information
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/devinfo -i device
/usr/sbin/devinfo -p device
DESCRIPTION
The devinfo command is used to print device specific information about disk devices on standard out. The command can only be used by the
superuser.
OPTIONS
-i Prints the following device information:
o Device name
o Software version (not supported and prints as 0)
o Drive id number (not supported and prints as 0)
o Device blocks per cylinder
o Device bytes per block
o Number of device partitions with a block size greater than zero
-p Prints the following device partition information:
o Device name
o Device major and minor numbers (in hexadecimal)
o Partition start block
o Number of blocks allocated to the partition
o Partition flag
o Partition tag
This command is used by various other commands to obtain device specific information for the making of file systems and determining parti-
tion information. If the device cannot be opened, an error message is reported.
OPERANDS
device Device name.
EXIT STATUS
0 Successful operation.
2 Operation failed.
