In PuTTY, in order to save a session, you'll have to name it first (the input field below where you put the hostname)
The message "using keyboard interactive authentication" means that your user id authenticated using a password, as opposed to authentication using asymmetric keys, smartcards, or one time pads. Just enter your username and password when promped.

I just installed Red Hat Enterprise and I would like to have the KDE/GNOME windows display to my PC. When I am root (via ssh, putty) I type startx but it fails. I'm not sure what has to be configured!

Have created a Pub - Pvt key combination for the same.
Added the entry of username in "User name" box of Putty.

I am trying to connect to a solaris server using putty from a indows client. SSH connection is not working. The terminal indow just gives an error message "Network error:Connection refused".

DESCRIPTION
pscp is a command-line client for the SSH-based SCP (secure copy) and SFTP (secure file transfer protocol) protocols.
OPTIONS
The command-line options supported by pscp are:
-V Show version information and exit.
-pgpfp Display the fingerprints of the PuTTY PGP Master Keys and exit, to aid in verifying new files released by the PuTTY team.
-ls Remote directory listing.
-p Preserve file attributes.
-q Quiet, don't show statistics.
-r Copy directories recursively.
-unsafe
Allow server-side wildcards (DANGEROUS).
-v Show verbose messages.
-load session
Load settings from saved session.
-P port
Connect to port port.
-l user
Set remote username to user.
