How can i set a variable field delimiter using awk??
I wanna do something like this ,but i canīt get the correct syntaxis :
VARI=TEST
echo "0121212TESTxvcshaashd"|awk 'FS="$VARI" {print $2}'

if i do:
echo $x | awk -F\/ '{print $NF}'
will result to:

how do i invert the output to:

I have extract a single field from the 2nd row of a file of which the format is as given below

I need to cut Field17 as such (no quotes required)..
I give the command
head -2 file_name | tail -1 | cut -d "," -f17

I need an awk script to receive a variable that's an decimal value such as 009 or 031 and then convert this value to an ascii character to use as the FS (field separator for the input file).
For example,
009 should be converted to an ascii tab

I am getting error message :-

AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like
@include getopt.awk
in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.
