Hi.
That was FYI
Few more details. I am running Solaris 10 on SUN x4450 box (really nice work horse) with 128GB RAM.
when I run ./startApp.sh all works as it should: my application starts
and i get messages (all the time)
when i place killapp.txt under /opt/tmp nothing, just nothing. That is strange becaus in theory should work.
I have a process that gradually eats up memory, it's currently at 80.2% and slowing down the linux server

Is there a command I can execute to restart this... (3 Replies)
Ok, I run a small script, that restarts a perl script when it fails (it's a very unreliable perl script, but I can't change it, it's crucial, and I don't know perl)
It outputs data into a logfile. Unfortunately, it also regularly hangs. This is a major problem because if it hangs, no data is... (6 Replies)
Hi, I have a PHP application that starts a couple of processes on the server...the problem is that if I restart apache those running apps will die.
How can I start them in a way that they are not killed when I restart/stop apache ?

I have posted this on the Web subforum but it seems that nobody knows to do this, maybe someone has a solution here. Thank you

I have written a script which checks for a file if that is being updated or not. If the files is not being updated then it will restart the process.

Hi all
I have networker running on a RHEL 5.7 and over time it hangs. So the solution backup team proposed is to check if the process is hung, to stop and start it.
Unfortunately for me, the rc script only allows three commands, start, stop and status (no restart option) so I managed to set... (15 Replies)

Hi Guru's,
I just want to have an idea on how to restart a particular step when it fails?
SCENARIO
we have plenty of steps such as the following below:
Step 1
copy file from source to target location which is in a different server.
Step 2
create initial and incremental process

Plack::App::CGIBin - cgi-bin replacement for Plack servers
SYNOPSIS
use Plack::App::CGIBin;
use Plack::Builder;
my $app = Plack::App::CGIBin->new(root => "/path/to/cgi-bin")->to_app;
builder {
mount "/cgi-bin" => $app;
};
# Or from the command line
plackup -MPlack::App::CGIBin -e 'Plack::App::CGIBin->new(root => "/path/to/cgi-bin")->to_app'
DESCRIPTION
Plack::App::CGIBin allows you to load CGI scripts from a directory and convert them into a PSGI application.
This would give you the extreme easiness when you have bunch of old CGI scripts that is loaded using cgi-bin of Apache web server.
HOW IT WORKS
This application checks if a given file path is a perl script and if so, uses CGI::Compile to compile a CGI script into a sub (like
ModPerl::Registry) and then run it as a persistent application using CGI::Emulate::PSGI.
If the given file is not a perl script, it executes the script just like a normal CGI script with fork & exec. This is like a normal web
server mode and no performance benefit is achieved.
The default mechanism to determine if a given file is a Perl script is as follows:
o Check if the filename ends with ".pl". If yes, it is a Perl script.
o Open the file and see if the shebang (first line of the file) contains the word "perl" (like "#!/usr/bin/perl"). If yes, it is a Perl
script.
You can customize this behavior by passing "exec_cb" callback, which takes a file path to its first argument.
For example, if your perl-based CGI script uses lots of global variables and such and are not ready to run on a persistent environment, you
can do:
my $app = Plack::App::CGIBin->new(
root => "/path/to/cgi-bin",
exec_cb => sub { 1 },
)->to_app;
to always force the execute option for any files.
