Following should be close to what you're after:

1/ Assuming no other files or dirs, and if dirs were created on the same date as their name:

Code:
ls -t | sed q

will work

But depending exactly on what other dirs/timestamps etc you have there:

#  /bin/ls -l | awk '/^d/{print $9}' | sed 's/\(..\)\(..\)\(....\)/\3\1\2 &/g' | sort -nr | sed 's/[^ ]* //;q;'

should be reasonably clean and get you your answer.
