Solaris escape my script from "-" to "/226"
Hello everyone.
I beg your guys pardon please.
I try to ls -al in many path/directories. So, I put the code in text file which look like below;
ls -al /
ls -al /etc
ls -al /etc/default
...
however, when I paste it to Solaris over SecureCRT, it seems the code was escaped from "-" to "/226" as following;
ls /226al /
ls /226al /etc
ls /226al /etc/default
...
I do try FTP, SCP file transfer. Same result! it was escaped.
I had never seen a problem like this before. Anybody know what's going on or any services cause this kind of escaping?
I try to GOOGLE and search for "/226", "226: here but I still cannot get what I looking for.
Please help me.

problem solved.
I copy the script from Microsoft Word and that's not a hyphen!! "–"
– ==> look like hyphen but was replace by Microsoft Word
- ==> real hyphen
The above character look similar but actually, it's not.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

patgen
PATGEN(1) General Commands Manual PATGEN(1)
NAME
patgen - generate patterns for TeX hyphenation
SYNOPSIS
patgen dictionary_file pattern_file log_file translate_file
DESCRIPTION
This manual page is not meant to be exhaustive. The complete documentation for this version of TeX can be found in the info file or manual
Web2C: A TeX implementation.
The patgen program reads the dictionary_file and produces the pattern_file, writing a transcript of its actions on the log_file. The dic-
tionary_file should contain a list of hyphenated words and previously-generated patterns.
The patterns thus generated can be read by initex for use in hyphenating words. For a (very) long example of patgen's output, see $TEXMF-
MAIN/generic/hyphen/hyphen.tex, which contains the patterns TeX uses for English. At some sites, patterns for several other languages may
be available, and the local tex programs may have them preloaded; consult your Local Guide or your system administrator for details.
All filenames must be complete; no adding of default extensions or path searching is done.
FILES
$TEXMFMAIN/generic/hyphen/hyphen.tex
Patterns for English.

AUTHORS
Frank Liang wrote the first version of this program. Peter Breitenlohner made a substantial revision in 1991 for TeX 3. The first version
was published as the appendix to the TeXware technical report, available from the TeX Users Group. Howard Trickey originally ported it to
Unix.
