Many thanks, your code works perfectly. I need some more help from you. when my CONTACT field values contain spaces between words then the code produces only the 1st value and ignores the rest of the field value. For example please see the 1st record.

If my input file is in the below format

Code:
UNIQUE	ORDER	CONTACT		WINS
G001	R01	Swr Pq,SD	solution
G002	R01A	B,DR,P	
G003	R02	A F		fix
G004	R03	PO,A C		build

then i want the output to be
Code:
UNIQUE	CONTACT
G001	Swr Pq
G001	SD
G002	B
G002	DR
G002	P
G003	A F
G004	PO
G004	A C

however i get the following output
Code:
UNIQUE	CONTACT
G001	Swr
G002	B
G002	DR
G002	P
G003	A
G004	PO

Any idea how I can correct it, that is to allow spaces between words.

awk to add plus or minus to fields and split another field

In the tab-delimited input below I am trying to use awk to -10 from $2 and +10 to $3. Something like awk -F'\t' -v OFS='\t' -v s=10 '{split($4,a,":"); print $1,$2-s,$3+s,a,$5,$6} | awk {split(a,b,"-"); print $1,$2-s,$3+s,b-s,b+s,$5,$6}' input should do that. awk to split field twice using two deliminators

NAME

       Locale::Codes::LangVar - standard codes for language variation identification

SYNOPSIS

	  use Locale::Codes::LangVar;

	  $lvar = code2langvar('acm');		       # $lvar gets 'Mesopotamian Arabic'
	  $code = langvar2code('Mesopotamian Arabic'); # $code gets 'acm'

	  @codes   = all_langvar_codes();
	  @names   = all_langvar_names();

DESCRIPTION

       The "Locale::Codes::LangVar" module provides access to standard codes used for identifying language variations, such as those as defined in
       the IANA language registry.

       Most of the routines take an optional additional argument which specifies the code set to use. If not specified, the default IANA language
       registry codes will be used.

SUPPORTED CODE SETS

       There are several different code sets you can use for identifying language variations. A code set may be specified using either a name, or
       a constant that is automatically exported by this module.

       For example, the two are equivalent:

	  $lvar = code2langvar('en','alpha-2');
	  $lvar = code2langvar('en',LOCALE_CODE_ALPHA_2);

       The codesets currently supported are:

       alpha
	   This is the set of alphanumeric codes from the IANA language registry, such as 'arevela' for Eastern Armenian.

	   This code set is identified with the symbol "LOCALE_LANGVAR_ALPHA".

	   This is the default code set.
