i have seen this link before, thank you for replying for my query. This might sound weird to you( i am just a beginer). what i am trying to do is:
There 3 files say add, prime and odd, now i want all of them should be in 1 file in such a way that, the inputs from user shud just be like add 10 or prime 10 or something and they shud get the output. Donno whether to use getopts or not a friend just hinted, that's y asked about them.

Is there a restriction on levels of using 'getopts' ? I have several scripts, each of which requires an option as the first parameter . If I call one prg separately it works fine, but when one prg calls another prg and passes the option on the called prg, then the called prg seems not to process... (3 Replies)

NAME

       openssl-prime, prime - compute prime numbers

SYNOPSIS

       openssl prime [-help] [-hex] [-generate] [-bits] [-safe] [-checks] [number...]

DESCRIPTION

       The prime command checks if the specified numbers are prime.

       If no numbers are given on the command line, the -generate flag should be used to generate primes according to the requirements specified
       by the rest of the flags.

OPTIONS

       [-help]
	   Display an option summary.

       [-hex]
	   Generate hex output.

       [-generate]
	   Generate a prime number.

       [-bits num]
	   Generate a prime with num bits.

       [-safe]
	   When used with -generate, generates a "safe" prime. If the number generated is n, then check that (n-1)/2 is also prime.

       [-checks num]
	   Perform the checks num times to see that the generated number is prime.  The default is 20.
