Solaris uses swap. AIX utilizes paging space. /usr/sbin/syncd does the appropriate task in AIX.
Swapper/syncd do not start the init service. They are responsible for cleaning/recovering virtual memory.

Hi all,
i was able to redirect pid of process to a file in the following way
ps aux|awk '$11 == "/Applications/ProjectX/DServer" >> /Applications/ProjectX/DServer.pid
it works fine but if one folder name caontains space its not working like below

and i got a output like ths

Below is the code snippet I use on Linux (Centos) to retrieve the Process Name, PID and memory consumed on Linux (Centos) host:-
