It can refer to device state inconsistence... Try fsck on /dev/rdsk/c0d1 on both nodes. Also, please provide the output of 'grep c0d1 /var/adm/messages' command

OK, I will try this now, and provide o/p messages (not yet run fsck)

install-solaris - install the Solaris operating system SYNOPSIS
install-solaris install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation, install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
