AIX doesn't run on anything save for IBM R/6000 and p-series machines so there would be no point in copying it. IBM sells its Unix-hardware only with AIX-licenses along so your machine has definitely been sold with an AIX license already anyways. Which is the reason for IBM being so lenient about it.

I hope the helps.

Hey thanks bakunin, reading between the lines, are you are saying that Linux won't work on the machine that I have due to the adapter problem and I should get Aix instead?

(Obsolete and ignored). mount Used by the mount command to determine whether this file system should be mounted by default. nodename Used by the mount command to determine which node contains the remote filesystem. size Used by the mkfs command for reference and to build the file system. type Used to group related mounts. vfs Specifies the type of mount. For example, vfs=nfs specifies the virtual filesystem being mounted is an NFS filesystem. vol Used by the mkfs command when initializing the label on a new filesystem.
