JBoss is run on a JVM, so it should run in any environment provided a compatible JVM is available.
For at least Windows and Linux, installing JBoss is usually a matter of simply extracting a zip archive and running a start script. I expect AIX would be similar but I'm not sure whether JBoss will run well on an IBM JVM, or whether Sun JDK is available on AIX.
