hi.. i'm a newbie here and with unix..
i'm almost done with my program, i only needed to create a utility or a script that will search and sort the files on my file.
if you can help me create a script i will greatly appreciate it. thanks

Hi,
Program A: uses pipe()
I am able to read the stdout of PROGAM B (stdout got through system() command) into PROGRAM A using:
* child
-> dup2(fd, STDOUT_FILENO);
-> execl("/path/PROGRAM B", "PROGRAM B", NULL);
* parent
-> char line;
-> read(fd, line, 100);

this program then requires a filename as input.
how do i give it this input in the script so the program will be complete run and close by the script.
e.g.

program then asks for filename

script [-a] [filename] DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS. The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
