The sem-colon is a command terminus in the UNIX shell.
However, it is required to be passed into the find command
as a terminus for the -exec option.
If it is not escaped by the backslash, the find command fails.
try typing:
echo ;
and
echo \;
to see the difference.

Hi,
My requirement is i need to touch a sequence of files like
touch a
touch b
touch c
now i need the script in a way that checks if all files are touched or not.
if any file say b is not touched then i should get this notification.

I'm getting to grips with this concept of the umask.
What I thought was, setting umask uga+rwx would result in creating files with all permissions for everyone. Seems not to be the case though. Read and write bits get set, but not the execute bit.
