actually... one other question is - given that the latest stable Debian still has a 2.4 kernel, would i be better going to Ubuntu to get the 2.6 kernel for performance reasons? Or is the 2.4 kernel no slower than the 2.6 in terms of disk IO and other things generally?

Has anyone outhere had sucess installing Unixware 7.1.4 on a Dell PE2950/perc6i server. The install process won't recognize the root drive. We have installed the HBA disk with the drivers for the Perc6i controller but still no luck. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated. (1 Reply)

SYNOPSIS
inteltool [-vh?grpmedPMa]
DESCRIPTION
inteltool is a handy little tool for dumping the configuration space of Intel(R) CPUs, northbridges and southbridges.
This tool has been developed for the coreboot project (see http://coreboot.org for details on coreboot).
OPTIONS
-h, --help
Show a help text and exit.
-v, --version
Show version information and exit.
-a, --all
Dump all known I/O Controller Hub (ICH) southbridge, Intel(R) northbridge and Intel(R) Core CPU MSRs.
-g, --gpio
Dump I/O Controller Hub (ICH) southbridge GPIO registers.
-r, --rcba
Dump I/O Controller Hub (ICH) southbridge RCBA registers.
