The reason I want to use SuSE is that our company has some systems using it. RH Enterprise is fine too. If Ubuntu is only good for desktop, I prefer not to use it since I want to focus on hands-on practices of system admin. RH is not free now. I only have RH Enterprise version 9, that probably won't support my notebook well. I will have to find updated drivers for hardware devices.
Windows Vista is installed. Dual boot should not be a big problem. Thanks!

Why is it so difficult (read: impossible) to configure and run an internal modem in linux operating system. Not all can afford an external modem and hardware modems are obsolete as well as out of production.

SYNOPSIS
aes2501 [-r]
DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the aes2501 command.
aes2501 is a command line program that scans fingerprints from an aes2501 scanner. It creates an image in local directory named fp.pnm, so
assure you have write permissions in the directory you exec the command.
The AES 2501 fingerprint scanner vendor is Authentec and this sensor can be found in:
o Medion MD85264 USB sensor
o HP nx6125 notebook
o HP Compaq nx6320 notebook
o Fujitsu-Siemens P7120 notebook.
