I need to configure an NTP daemon on a "bridge-PC" connected on 2 LANs. It is expected to read the correct time on a time server on the first LAN and behave as a server for the second LAN.
Can I do both the things with ntpd?

All here, thank you for listening. Now I've set up a Linux NTP server by adding a external windows NTP server in /etc/ntp.conf. Then I start the ntpd daemon. But how often does the Linux NTP server update its time with the external NTP server? I've looked up everywhere but found no information... (1 Reply)

I have a home network set up that consists of a few windows clients and 3 centos, and 1 suse client. These are all virtual machines, VMware Workstation. One centos vm is set to be the Samba server. int set_item_opts(ITEM *item, OPTIONS opts);
int item_opts_on(ITEM *item, OPTIONS opts);
int item_opts_off(ITEM *item, OPTIONS opts);
OPTIONS item_opts(ITEM *item);
DESCRIPTION
set_item_opts() turns on the named options for item and turns off all other options. Options are boolean values that can be OR-ed together.
item_opts_on() turns on the named options for item; no other option is changed.
item_opts_off() turns off the named options for item; no other option is changed.
item_opts() returns the current options of item.
O_SELECTABLE The item can be selected during menu processing.
RETURN VALUES
Except for item_opts(), these routines return one of the following:
E_OK The routine returned successfully.
E_SYSTEM_ERROR System error.
