Hi sbk1972,
Assuming your laptop has a USB port available, you will probable need a USB to RS232 (DB9 or DB25) cable converter kit.
How would you power cycle the SCs, if you can not access either of the system controllers. (A full platform power cycle would need to be instigated) You will have to check both SCs, (via your laptop) if your platform has been setup as per Sun blueprint documentation, or as instructed be Sun SF6800 build documentation. The floating Ip-address associated with the SCs would be setup so a failover from the SC primary to sc slave is triggered.
