Convert DD-MMM-YYYY to MM-DD-YYYY
I have a file which has 100k+ records like this

I want to convert ex 05-JUN-1974 to 06/05/1974

 

Please help me with awk script to convert the whole file into MM-DD-YYYY

Hello, 
  
I am writing a script that parses different logs and produces one. In the source files, the date is in DD MM YYYY HH24:MI:SS format. In the output, it should be in DD MON YYY HH24:MI:SS (ie 25 Jan 2010 16:10:10) 
To extract the dates, I am using shell substrings, i.e.:

I've seen a lot of posts on this and have tried the following: 
 
 echo 1257000000| perl -e '($d,$m,$y)=(localtime(time-86400));$m+=1;$y+=1900;printf "$y/$m/$d\n";'  
 
But I am unable to convert a past Epoch date into a format such as YYYY/MM/DD or MM/DD/YYYY.

 Bash to convert to m-d-yyyy




I am using bash that when run downloads a file a verifies that there is data in it. What I am not able to do is have a user enter a date in any format they wish and have it converted to m-d-yyyy.  Thank you :).

I am getting output of YYYY-MM-DD and want to change this to DD/MM/YYYY. 
When am running the query in 'Todd' to_date(column_name,'DD/MM/YYYY') am getting the required o/p of DD/MM/YYYY, But when am executing the same query(Netezza) in linux server(bash) am getting the output of YYYY-MM-DD

NAME

       msnsetup - An interactive program to setup msn accounts to use with the msn utility.

SYNOPSIS

       msnsetup [profilename]

DESCRIPTION

       This manual page documents briefly the msnsetup command.

       This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

       msnsetup is a program delivered with the msn utility. It is used to interactively configure the account to be used with msn.

       The program can optionally take one parameter which is the name of the profile where you want to store your account information. This is
       particularly useful when you want to have more than one account configured, and then you can choose which profile to use with the msn
       utility.

FILES

       ${HOME}/.msn/msnrc
	   The default configuration file for the account information, stored by msnsetup.

       ${HOME}/.msn/msnrc-{profilename}
	   The configuration file for a specific profile name that stores that account information, chosen by the user and stored by msnsetup.

BUGS

       The program is currently limited to only work with the msn utility.
