Hi, I'm doing a script that reads lines from a file and then copy them to another file, if the user wants it.
But I'having problems to get the user selection because when I do the read to ask the user, the script reads the next line of the file.

I've discovered a very annoying problem in sh:
echo -en "one\ntwo\nthree" | while read VALUE
do
echo "${VALUE}"

I am just trying to read data from a file.
The command i tried worked well with AIX server. But in SunOS, it is not reading.
cat log.out |sed -n '4,4p'| read value;
+ sed -n 4,4p
+ cat log.out
+ read value

NAME
rackdiag - generate rack-structure-diagram image file from spec-text file.
SYNOPSIS
rackdiag [options] files
DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the rackdiag commands.
rackdiag is generate sequence-diagram image file from spec-text file.
OPTIONS
These programs follow the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (`-'). A summary of options is
included below. For a complete description, see the Info files.
-h, --help
show this help message and exit.
--version
show program's version number and exit.
-a, --antialias
Pass diagram image to anti-alias filter.
-c FILE, --config=FILE
read configurations from FILE.
-o FILE
write diagram to FILE.
-f FONT, --font=FONT
use FONT to draw diagram.
-T TYPE
Output diagram as TYPE format.
