Important point is that at least two disks will need a free slice, only about 20MB for DiskSuite to use and put 3 copies of the metatstate database in each, DiskDuite requires a minimum of 3 to work and of course you are planning to cope with disk failures!
So amend the above instructions, from:
# metadb -a /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s5
to:
# metadb -a -c 3 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s5

I have a scsi pci x raid controller card on which I had created a disk array of 3 disks
when I type lspv ; I used to see 3 physical disks ( two local disks and one raid 5 disk )

Plan to use software raid (veritas volume mgr) on c1t2d0 disk.
After format and label the disk, still not able to detect using vxdiskadm.

install-solaris
install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation,
install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation:
For SPARC machines:
128 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
128 MB
Minimum physical memory required for windowing system
384 MB
Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation
For x86 machines:
256 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
256 MB
Minimum physical memory required for windowing system
512 MB

In some cases, even if the minimum physical memory is present, available virtual memory after system startup can limit the number of fea-
