I don't know if your Tivoli looks at AIX volume groups or at DMX3 volumes.

If the VG is running out of space, you have to assign another physical volume assigned from the DMX 3 to that VG. When created on the DMX 3 and assigned, you can add it with extendvg on AIX for example.

HMC? No I don't think you can solve anything of that with the HMC.

But it looks more like a message that a DMX 3 volume is running out of space. As I said, use the ECC (EMC Control Center) or adequate sym... commands.

Be warned, that this is nothing a junior admin should do. You have exactly to know what you are doing.
