Sure. Have a look into smit.script to see which command SMIT uses under the hood. SMIT is meant to be used like this - giving you the oportunity to learn how to use AIX commands. The command itself does not care whether it is run by SMIT or by commandline.

Restore from savevg

I am trying to restore files from savevg. I used to smit restore and gave the file location. Savevg is taken to a mount point from San storage and not tape back up. The nsp driver provides access to the SCSI bus connected to a PC-Card SCSI host adapter based on a Ninja SCSI-3 controller by Workbit. HARDWARE
