I found the answer to this question thanks to phoenix from the
Daemon Forums.
You need to a symlink as follows ...

$ ln -s /usr/local/diablo-jre1.6.0/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/
