Use of condition with if...
hi all,
I am writing a shell script in ksh.Scenerio is
I am exporting a result set from teradata to a file and comparing its result with my assigend varaible.but this comaprison is not happening.I give my script here...

record=/tmp/error.txt
count=/tmp/cnt.txt
chmod 777 $count
counts=`sed -n 3,1p $count`
if [$count>0]; then
echo "Table exists"
TO=mailId
FROM=mailID
SUBJECT='ErrorNews'

echo "Attached are the ERROR RECD as on `date "+%d%b%Y"`" >> MAILTEXT.txt

my proble this is if condition is not happening
if [$count>0]; then
its giving me some ksh:not found error
i tried many variants like..
if [$count=1]; or if[$count="table name"] where $count is a string now..
I don not know what is this....
please suggest me I am not sure how to use if condition here..

Hi,
I am trying to execute this command, but is it not working, says "`;' unexpected"
eval $lgrep $SAM_CMD ; if ; then ; echo "No Error" ; fi
What i want is, return the command output, if it is non zero, say "No Error".

My doubt may be basic one but I need to get it clarified..
When i use "if" condition that checks for many AND, OR logical conditions
like
if ]; then
return 0
fi
Even the if condition fails it returns as zero.. Any clue..
But if i add else condition like
