Hi all,
I'm new to Shell scripting. In my shell script for Bourne shell, the script accepts a date parameter which is optional. If the value is supplied, the supplied value should be assigned to a variable. If not, the current date will be assigned to the variable. My script is like this.

Can someone please help me with this SHELL script?
I need to create a script that gets a positive number n as an argument. The script must calculate the factorial of its argument. In other words, it must calculate n!=1x2x3x...xn. Note that 0!=1.
Here is a start but I have no clue how to... (3 Replies)
Hi guys!
So, I use GET ( Simple user agent using LWP library. ) on a remote text file that is then passed to bash and executed. However, I need to pass that bash script a single argument, and so far nothing that I have tried has worked, although I have learned quite a bit about input/output... (5 Replies)

Hi everybody!
I am writing a script which accepts two arguments one of them being a message. All is working except for the message part. That is, to accept text as an argument.
I have trouble storing and echoing a line of text. It seems that writing a few words and store them in an... (6 Replies)
I have a bash script where I pass an argument

I pass an argument to bash as run. The first command in green executes as expected, however the second in blue fails as the $run does not expand. I tried to escape the variable with \ thinking the quotes were making the literal translation and also "${run}" but both did not work to expand the... (3 Replies)

Jifty::Manual::TutorialRest - Web Services
DESCRIPTION
This builds on Jifty::Manual::Tutorial, so make sure you have a running jifty that roughly resembles the step-by-step from there.
SETUP
You must add this to your site_config.yml
framework:
Plugins:
- REST: {}
See Jifty::Plugin::REST.
The commands assume that you have LWP installed with the GET alias. If not, you'll need to use the longhand lwp-request -m GET, or curl,
or your browser.
help
Make sure it is working:
$ GET http://localhost:8888/=/help
Accessing resources:
...
You should see some text describing the services, not html (that's longhand for 404.) Check the config and restart the server.
GET
Just list the models.
$ GET http://localhost:8888/=/model.yml
---
- MyWeblog.Model.Post
List the Post schema.
$ GET http://localhost:8888/=/model/Post.yml
---
body:
label: Content
name: body
readable: 1
sort_order: 1
type: text
writable: 1

writable: 0
title:
default: Untitled post
label: Title
name: title

sort_order: 0
type: text
writable: 1
You did make some posts, right?
$ GET http://localhost:8888/=/model/Post/id.yml
---
- 1
- 2
Dump the data:
$ GET http://localhost:8888/=/model/Post/id/1.yml
---
body: 'This is my post, the content of which is this, which is mine.'
id: 1
title: my first post
$ GET http://localhost:8888/=/model/Post/id/2.yml
---
body: "Content of another post. Got to go, the cat's on fire."
id: 2
title: post deux
POST
TODO not working
Actually, it looks like it is not supposed to work this way. Why not?
$ echo '---
body: "A post via web services"
id: 3
title: "posting from the command-line"
