GNU ed 1.2-rc1 (Development branch)

GNU ed is an 8-bit clean implementation of the POSIX line-oriented text editor. Ed is the "standard" text editor in the sense that it is the original editor for Unix, and thus widely available. For most purposes, however, it is superseded by full-screen editors such as GNU Emacs or GNU Moe. License: GNU General Public License v3 Changes:
The man page is now installed by default. "make install-info" should now work on Debian and Mac OS X. The license of the manual has been updated to GFDL version 1.3 or later. Image

NAME
WebCommon::urlEncode - URL encode a string SYNOPSIS
String urlEncode( String x ) ARGUMENTS
x The string to encode DESCRIPTION
URL encode a string. You should use this to encode reserved characters in URLs that you wish to be passed literally. // trying to pass "http://www.example.com" as a parameter url = "http://localhost/test.cgi?url="; url += urlEncode("http://www.example.com"); // url = http://localhost/test.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com Note that in the example above, encoding the whole URL would be incorrect - that would create a relative URL beginning "http://".
