I have tried the following script :-

findit='find . -name "a.log" | wc -l'
if [ $findit -eq 0 ]; then
echo "1"
else
echo "0"
fi

and I am getting the below result when a.log is not present

Code:
./h.sh[7]: [: .: unexpected operator/operand
0

when the file is present I am getting the same result

Code:
./h.sh[7]: [: .: unexpected operator/operand
0

please advice
