I connect to the box using telnet. I did try to set up TERM=vt100 . but crtl/c it still does not work

it seams that my ctrl+c and my ctrl+d don't work. if I type a bunch of jiberish on a line and ctrl+c I expect the command to be cancelled and to be given a fresh prompt, but instead it just putts ^C at the end of the line.

I'm using HP-UX 11 machine. I am running a script, thats gonna take a long time to execute. When I press ctrl-c to come out of my script, I have to catch that signal(ctrl-c) and display that ctrl-c had been pressed. How can I do it.

When running MC in xterm or gnome-terminal, it doesn't seem to allow the use of Ctrl-enter and Ctr-shift-enter to copy marked files to the command line.
Does anyone know of another way to cause this to happen or a way to enable it under xterm/gnome-term?

I have written script where it need to invoke the perl script in background, then write the pid in temp file then bring back the job to foreground. whenever the Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Z is pressed in the script has to exit and prompt should be dispalyed. but this script causing exit from shell session... microcom -- A minimalistic terminal program
SYNOPSIS
microcom [-p devfile] [-s speed] [-t host:port] [-c interface:rx_id:tx_id]
DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the microcom command.
This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.
microcom is a is a minimalistic terminal program for accessing devices (e.g. switches) via a serial connection. It features connection
via RS232 serial interfaces (including setting of transferrates) as well as in `telnetmode' as specified in rfc2217.
The default escape character is crtl-. You may enter the program menu with the escape character followed by c. You may leave the program
by the escape character followed by q.
OPTIONS
These programs follow the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (`-'). A summary of options is
included below. For a complete description, see the Info files.
-h --help
Show help.
-p --port
use the specified serial port device (default /dev/ttyS0).
-s --speed
use specified baudrate (default 115200).
-t --telnet
work in telnet (rfc2217) mode.
-c --can
work in CAN mode (default: (can0:200:200))
-d --debug
turn on debug mode.
