Problem sending mail after IP/hostname change
Hello,
I had to replace my Solaris 10 workstation with the other one because of hardware issues. I need to configure the new WS with the same configuration. It looked like it was using DHCP before and I was able to send mail with mailx command. Since old HW used static IP I have disabled DHCP and modified
/etc/inet/hosts
/etc/inet/ipnodes
/etc/nsswitch.conf
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/defaultrouter
/etc/nodename
/etc/hostname.eri0
to handle the new configuration of a static IP and now I'm getting mail delivery subsystem warnings: Deferred: Connection timed out with foo.com
Could anybody give me a hint how to troubleshoot this? Obviously It was working before and problem is not in foo.com
when I do nslookup foo.com (foo is not my real domain) it comes back with IP address. Any ideas?

i'm a avid fan of making the output of my scripts look pretty. so as a result i put in my scripts a lot of lines that are formed by either ****** or =======

Im having trouble with sending a file with attachment. The attach file wasn't sent to to the recepient.
We tested this manually and it works but with the script it doesn't work. I'm thinking there is a problem with the script. Here is the code:

I received email with a attachment with all data but i get all of them in one row.

nodename - local source for system name SYNOPSIS
/etc/nodename DESCRIPTION
When a machine is standalone or its IP address is configured locally, the /etc/nodename file contains the system name. By convention, the system name is the same as the hostname associated with the IP address of the primary network interface, for example, hostname.hme0. If the machine's network configuration is delivered by the RPC bootparams protocol, the /etc/nodename file is not used, as the system name is delivered by the remote service. Given a system name value, regardless of source, the uname utility invoked with the -S option is used to set the system name of the running system. If the machine's network configuration is delivered by the DHCP protocol, the /etc/nodename file is used only if the DHCP server does not provide a value for the Hostname option (DHCP standard option code 12). A system name configured in /etc/nodename should be unique within the system's name service domain in order to ensure that any network ser- vices provided by the system will operate correctly. Given a system name value, regardless of source, the uname utility invoked with the -S option is used to set the system name of the running system. EXAMPLES
