new user
hello
I am a freebsd new user , i already install freebsd 6.0.3 and then i use Csup update ports-tree and then use Csup
to safety update after reboot back to the login screen , when i input user name and password , it back to the login location , i use another user name that i create before ,I also reinstall again also like this why??? Anyone can teach me how to fix it , many thx^^
1.Csup更新Port Tree
#cd /usr/ports/net/csup
#make install clean
1-2.change port file (ports-supfile)
1-2-1.change ports-supfile
default host CHANGE_THIS.FreeBSD.org
change to--->default host cvsup.tw.freebsd.org
#rehash
#csup -L 2 ports-supfile <---------success update
1-2-2change /etc/make.conf <---------i can see this file but
change /etc/make.conf
SUP_UPDATE=yes <---------can't see this?

2. Csup safety update

change to-->*default host=cvsup.tw.freebsd.org
*default release=cvs tag=RELENG_6
change to-->*default release=cvs tag=RELENG_6_0
#cd /usr/share/examples/cvsup
#rehash
#csup -L 2 stable-supfile <---------success update
#cd /usr/src
#make buildworld kernel
#reboot <----HERE!!! when i reboot that is what i say
#make installworld
#reboot

Now assuming that it is possible to eject,please consider my issue!!!
The OS boots into a regular user by default...so i am unable to use the eject command to push out the drive...

Whenever i switch from root to another user, by doing su - user, it takes me to home directory of user. This is very annoying as i want to be in same dir to run different commands as root sometimes and sometimes as normal user.

NAME
pam_lastlog - PAM module to display date of last login
SYNOPSIS
pam_lastlog.so [debug] [silent] [never] [nodate] [nohost] [noterm] [nowtmp] [noupdate] [showfailed]
DESCRIPTION
pam_lastlog is a PAM module to display a line of information about the last login of the user. In addition, the module maintains the
/var/log/lastlog file.
Some applications may perform this function themselves. In such cases, this module is not necessary.
OPTIONS
debug
Print debug information.
silent
Don't inform the user about any previous login, just update the /var/log/lastlog file.
never
If the /var/log/lastlog file does not contain any old entries for the user, indicate that the user has never previously logged in with
a welcome message.
nodate
Don't display the date of the last login.
noterm
Don't display the terminal name on which the last login was attempted.
nohost
Don't indicate from which host the last login was attempted.
nowtmp
Don't update the wtmp entry.
noupdate
Don't update any file.
showfailed
Display number of failed login attempts and the date of the last failed attempt from btmp. The date is not displayed when nodate is
specified.
MODULE TYPES PROVIDED
Only the session module type is provided.
RETURN VALUES
PAM_SUCCESS
Everything was successful.
PAM_SERVICE_ERR
Internal service module error.
