If there are no errors now, you need not worry. But suggested is, you have to make sure that any on any SUN machine, you will need to use the correct part-number from SUN.
Meaning, it should be supported as documented. If not, in the long run, you might face any critical issues with your system. Anyway, if you're gonna use this as your test machine, its fine. If you're going to use it for "prod" purposes, you'd better cross your fingers. Is not SAFE to do so with such configuration . First of all, I forgot to ask you, the memory kit part-number is supported for your sun blade and are the DIMMs from the same manufacturers?

I have SunBlade 2000 with XVR-1000 graphics card. Xserver won't loaded. I've reinstalled OS 9 ( loaded Driver) nor 10 still won't do it. Anyone has this problem or have any ideas whats' wrong, greatly appreciated!!

Can you mix DIMMs in a T6320 (sparc) blade? I have read/heard that the DIMMs in a memory bay must be identical but can you have different size DIMMs installed in the blade?

I have recently re-installed Solaris 10 on a Sun Blade 150 followed by a patch set (10_Recommended) dated 2011.12.05.
I have just noticed /bin/sun now returns false, rather than true. See below.
$ uname -a

We have a 6000 chassis with three blades in it. Two of the blades have "Oracle/Sun" memory in them with no complaints. The third blade is populated with Dataram dimms. That 3rd blade continues to flag a slot bad. Oracle has said they would not support the blade with Dataram memory it it. I didn't... (1 Reply)

systemd-machine-id-commit.service - Commit a transient machine ID to disk SYNOPSIS
systemd-machine-id-commit.service DESCRIPTION
systemd-machine-id-commit.service is an early boot service responsible for committing transient /etc/machine-id files to a writable disk file system. See machine-id(5) for more information about machine IDs. This service is started after local-fs.target in case /etc/machine-id is a mount point of its own (usually from a memory file system such as "tmpfs") and /etc is writable. The service will invoke systemd-machine-id-setup --commit, which writes the current transient machine ID to disk and unmount the /etc/machine-id file in a race-free manner to ensure that file is always valid and accessible for other processes. See systemd-machine-id-setup(1) for details. The main use case of this service are systems where /etc/machine-id is read-only and initially not initialized. In this case, the system manager will generate a transient machine ID file on a memory file system, and mount it over /etc/machine-id, during the early boot phase. This service is then invoked in a later boot phase, as soon as /etc has been remounted writable and the ID may thus be committed to disk to make it permanent. SEE ALSO
