Hi,
I can't check right now, but i think rpm -qil xxxProgram (query info list) gives You the content of a package and where the files will be installed.
If You have mc You can also browse the content of a rpm-file.
Or after the nightly update of locate-database You could type locate xxxProgram. Maybe it doesn't have any files named similar to xxxProgram.

I would like to know the difference between YUM UPDATE and YUM UPGRADE. The man pages say upgrade is same as update with the obsolete option. And by default it says the obsolete option is turned on, which would make them equivalent. Does not say what obsolete does.

I have configure local yum repository in my red hat linux on vmware. Below are the steps i followed
1. mkdir -p /root/install/RPMS
2. Copy all the software/packages RPMS from instillation CD/DVD to /root/install/RPMS directory

A quick google search told me it was in quazip and libquazip.

rpm {--initdb|--rebuilddb}
DESCRIPTION
The general form of an rpm rebuild database command is
rpm {--initdb|--rebuilddb} [-v] [--dbpath DIRECTORY] [--root DIRECTORY]
Use --initdb to create a new database if one doesn't already exist (existing database is not overwritten), use --rebuilddb to rebuild the
database indices from the installed package headers.
