Error Basic Linux Shell Command
I'm working with telnet under windows and Xming. I connect to a network computer and I open Xterm. With Xterm I want to be able to open more than one windows like firefox, nedit etc.

Example : When a open firefox on the xterm, I type "firefox", after that, I cannot make an other command until I close firefox.

I need to open with shell command nedit and firefox etc.


I'm looking also for a file browser like explorer in windows that I can call in the linux shell.

NAME

       gnome-default-applications-properties - set your default applications

SYNOPSIS

       gnome-default-applications-properties [gnome-std-options]

DESCRIPTION

       The  Preferred  Applications  preference  tool  allows  you to specify the applications that you'd like the desktop to use when the desktop
       starts an application for you. For example, you can specify Xterm as your preferred terminal application. When you open the  Desktop  Back-
       ground menu and choose New Terminal, Xterm starts.

OPTIONS

       The following options are supported:

       gnome-std-optionStandard options available for use with most GNOME applications. See gnome-std-options(5).

EXAMPLES

       Example 1: Launching the Preferred Applications preference tool
