The best explanation i have found is this:

On AIX53, I have PID=PSLOT*4096+offset

Maybe some guys who have attended the "kernel internals" class could expand on that?

Finding the nice(ni) number with PID?

Hi, is there a command that takes the PID of a process and that only diplays it's ni number? I`m pretty sure it would require pipes but I tried a few things that ended up miserably... Aix pid issue

Hi I have an IBM AIX 5.3 64Bit running with 64bit application (Kernel runs on 64bit also). I changed the maximum proccesses per user to the maximum. Currently the pids of proccesses in the system using 5 digits (<100000). Is it possible to make the system use pids bigger then 4500000? I need it... (6 Replies)

       httppower - communicate with HTTP based power distribution units

SYNOPSIS

       httppower [--url URL]

DESCRIPTION

       httppower  is  a  helper program for powerman which enables it to communicate with HTTP based power distribution units.	It is run interac-

OPTIONS

       -u, --url URL
	      Set the base URL.

INTERACTIVE COMMANDS

       The following commands are accepted at the httppower> prompt:

       auth user:pass
	      Authenticate to the base URL with specified user and password, using ``basic'' HTTP authentication which sends the user and password
	      over the network in plain text.

       seturl URL
	      Set the base URL.  Overrides the command line option.

       get [URL-suffix]
	      Send an HTTP GET to the base URL with the optional URL-suffix appended.
