uname -I = SUNW, UltraAX-e2
uname -m = sun4u
ls /platform = SUNW, (and a long list of h/w platforms starting with A70 and ending with UltraSPARCengine_CP-80, also sun4u, sun4u-op1, sun4u-us3
So am I to take it that the UltraAX-e2 isnt' supported? But at somepoint in the past this worked??
Also why does the DVD boot to begin with?

I have installed Solaris 10 on my AMD 64 3000+ system. I was playing with grub commands eeprom and bootadm commands. I screwed my boot-file and now am unable to boot the system. How to increase maximum number of open file in "sco xenix binary" running in "sco unix openserver 5.0.7" ?

I've a Sun V440 machine, and it's running solaris 10 .. for some reason i need to install a fresh copy of solaris 10. for that i've prepared solaris 10 dvd but surprisingly i found there is no any dvd rom on this machine, so i've took a dvd rom from a V240 machine and inserted on V440.

install-solaris - install the Solaris operating system
SYNOPSIS
install-solaris
install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation,
install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation:
For SPARC machines:
128 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
128 MB
Minimum physical memory required for windowing system
384 MB
Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation
For x86 machines:
256 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
256 MB
Minimum physical memory required for windowing system
512 MB
Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation
In some cases, even if the minimum physical memory is present, available virtual memory after system startup can limit the number of fea-
tures available.
install-solaris exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should be invoked only from there. Refer to the for more

install-solaris allows installation of the operating system onto any standalone system. install-solaris loads the software available on the
