What version/release of solaris 9 are you using?
There are a bunch of patches that when you apply them, they disable Java, SMC or other applications
You might have to remove uninstall those patches..
In solaris 10, patch 121308-08 caused this issue. Check the readme file of the patches installed on the system and manually remove in smc patch.
Or your Java installed on your system must be 1.5 or below..

When I attemp to run SMC and click somthing there (for example "system information") , an error message is shown on the screen and says me WBEM is not running. (But actually WBEM is working). It says "if WBEM runing, I should stop/start wbem and try again." but I do it... (0 Replies)

Hi,
I am new to solaris and i am trying solaris 10 7/08. I cannot add new user account with smc. I got the error "the management domain file:/solaris/solaris does not exist". Host name of my box is solaris. I do not know what should i do. Can someone help me pls?

I installed the smc and now I'm getting the below error when i try to access it via web.
Apache Tomcat/4.0.5 - HTTP Status 404 - /smconsole.jnlp
The service Apache2 is in maintenance mode and I can't get it online. Can someone help with this please?

NAME
suninstall - install the Solaris operating system
SYNOPSIS
suninstall
DESCRIPTION
install-solaris(1M) is now the preferred command for starting and restarting the Solaris Installation program. It should be used instead of
suninstall. suninstall is symbolically linked to install-solaris.
suninstall is a forms-based and graphical subsystem for installing the operating system.
suninstall exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should only be invoked from there. Refer to the Solaris 10 Instal-
lation Guide: Basic Installations for more details.
suninstall allows installation of the operating system onto any standalone system. suninstall loads the software available on the installa-
