I am new to UNIX and I am trying to write a shell script. I want to be able to list all files that were created with yesterdays dates (APR 29 as an example) that are not 0 file size.Then in those files I want to look for the string 'Process Complete' and list all files that DONT have that string.... To get yesterays date, execute the command :
TZ=aaa24 date +%Y%m%d

Hey guys - i have a script (below) that searches for current files in a particular directory.
However i was wondering how to make it search for "yesterdays" file. For instance it looks for a file from yesterday and no older than that.
I used stat command to check for file information:

Can anybody help me to get the yesterdays date in perl script.

I am trying to display todays and yesterdays .rej files from a directory.
ls -lrt *.rej | grep 'Aug 12' ; ls -lrt *.rej | grep 'Aug 13'
Which is working as above.
But i want take 'Aug 12' and 'Aug 13' from a variable and the command should work everyday.

ZGREP(1) General Commands Manual ZGREP(1) NAME
zgrep - search possibly compressed files for a regular expression SYNOPSIS
zgrep [ grep_options ] [ -e ] pattern filename... DESCRIPTION
Zgrep invokes grep on compressed or gzipped files. These grep options will cause zgrep to terminate with an error code: (-[drRzZ]|--di*|--exc*|--inc*|--rec*|--nu*). All other options specified are passed directly to grep. If no file is specified, then the standard input is decompressed if necessary and fed to grep. Otherwise the given files are uncompressed if necessary and fed to grep. If the GREP environment variable is set, zgrep uses it as the grep program to be invoked. EXIT CODE
