Hope the below is the one which shamrock said...correct me if am wrong..
if your output looks like below.
columnA columnB
1233 aaaa
2345 bbbb
3455 cccc
the above output is present in file1.txt
then just use the below command to make it csv
sed 's/space/,/g' file1
it should give the output like below
1233,aaaa
2345,bbbb
3455,cccc
or if there are two different column in differnt files then you can use the below command
paste -d, file1 file2 > output.csv

I have to extract a column from a file and then updated that column..??
Now i can use wak for extracting it and then how to update it..
$ awk' {print $5}' input_file

i Am using the below query and printing the $8 and $9 filed..
find /A/B/C/{1,3,5,7} -name "*.txt" -o -name "*.csv" -o -name "*.TXT" -o -name "*.dat" |xargs ls -ltr |awk '{print $8 ,$9}' > result.xls
this give me the rsult like below..
2008/home/ADMIN/om/1.txt
2008/home/ADMIN/om/hi.txt

grep "cert_codes" /develop/sales/appl.srce/*.4gl >aa.txt
But I am not sure, whether, all result stored in .txt file in case of multi-line result.

NAME
py_xls2txt - convert an Excel xls file to a plain text file
SYNOPSIS
py_xls2txt input-file
DESCRIPTION
This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.
py_xls2txt takes an Excel xls file as an argument and converts it to a plain text file. Output is sent to stdout.
Additional utility scripts can be found in the tools/ directory.
OPTIONS
This program does not take any command line options.
