Is there a imbedded command (Solaris v8 ksh) that will send an administrative alert/alarm. Or is it just triggering a mail message via shell script? If no, is there a good open-source code someone knows about?

You don't have permission to access /nagios/ on this server.

Hi Folks,
Nagios is acting a little weird for me, I have this external script which I hooked into Nagios, it merely does a curl/wget on a URL and returns the status based on string in the content/output. Initially for 2-3 hrs the script returns the right status and Nagios reports correctly i.e.... (4 Replies)

I want to group alerts in Nagios and want to know if and how that can be done?
So something like 1 alert for multiple alerts and I am notified only once than multiple times.

Hello All,
Nagios seems to be sending false alerts about few hosts, (ex: There were no users on one host and still Nagios was reporting a critical alert and says 6 users are logged in. How do I fix this one?

I have installed Nagios on Redhat Linux,
I have installed Nagios+Plugins+NRPE on Server A (Host Server) and Nagios Plugins + nrpe on remote linux server (red hat linux)
run the command on remote linux host, it returns nrpe version
usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H localhost

We have a dual Nagios server setup. One is setup for internal server monitoring on our LAN, while the second Nagios server is hosted externally and is used for external checks only such as URL and ping checks form the WAN side.

I keep getting false emails thought the load is normal , looks like same email is generated again and again - called from cron tab

yppoll - return current version of a NIS map at a NIS server host SYNOPSIS

The yppoll command asks a ypserv() process what the order number is, and which host is the master NIS server for the named map. OPTIONS
