Sun Management Center installation fails

Hi all

I'm trying to install Sun Management Center 4.0 on a fresh installation of Solaris 10 on a Sun 280R server. The installation keeps failing (during the setup process). Below is an extract of the log file (where things start to go wrong):

Starting Sun Management Center database setup...
verifyDatabaseDown: instance is not executing
Database consistency information missing.
Configuring database initialization parameter file

Database setup failed : db-start failed

As database is not setup, Marking server setup as failed in Registry.

None of the base layers are setup.


No Addon is setup.
Following Addons are not yet setup: Advanced System Monitoring,Service Availability Manager,Performance Reporting Manager,System Reliability Manager


Could not finish requested task.

setup [ directory ] DESCRIPTION
setup provides a graphical installation interface for EPM-generated portable installation packages. It presents a step-by-step dialog for collecting a list of packages to install and accepting any license agreements for those packages. setup searches for products in the current directory or the directory specified on the command-line.
