telnet hangs
Hi All,
When I tried to telnet to lparB from lparA, it hangs at "Escape character is..".

I've tried;
- killed -15 [PID inetd]
- re-started it
- edit netsvc.conf, hosts=local,bind and hosts=local,bind4
- checked /etc/hosts for 127.0.0.1 loopback localhost
- copy original inetd.conf
root@axdevt01::/usr/lpp/bos.net/inst_root/etc> ls -lrt inet*
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root system 4559 Jul 9 2004 inetd.conf

- clean up
root@axdevt01::/etc> ls -lrt tcp.clean
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root system 2665 Jul 28 2005 tcp.clean

- re-start
root@axdevt01::/etc> ls -lrt rc.tcpip
-rwxrwxr-- 1 root system 5434 Nov 2 2006 rc.tcpip

But still hangs..

Any idea..?

sysback hangs

I've set sysback to run in the cron daily to backup my servers to a nim servers SAN storage. Every once and a while the backup process hangs and the backup doesn't complete. When I check the processes the sysback processes are still running hours after sysback would normally end. I don't see any... (1 Reply)

NAME

       rdate - set system date from a remote host

SYNOPSIS

       rdate hostname

DESCRIPTION

       rdate sets the local date and time from the hostname given as an argument. You must have the authorization solaris.system.date on the local
       system. Typically, rdate is used in a startup script.

       The inetd daemon responds to rdate requests. To enable inetd response, the lines invoking the time command in inetd.conf must not  be  com-
       mented out.

USAGE

       The rdate command is IPv6-enabled. See ip6(7P).

       See attributes(5) for descriptions of the following attributes:
