I doubt that - cfgmgr works over all devices and if it gets interrupted it will have either only worked a part of them, or none at all - never checked that. Not sure how it is programmed, but an ODM corruption I really doubt that.

And if you are missing some new device because you pressed control-c or crashed the lpar/box, just run cfgmgr again when it's up again.
We don't take extra mksysb before running cfgmgr. You can run cfgmgr at any time afaik (but with phase 1 rules, see link above).

I have a P570 that for some reason is not allowing the P1-T6 NIC to be recognized. I have confirmed from the HMC that it is set for the LPAR, but when I do a cfgmgr, it won't recognize it. It though is recognizing the slot cards just fine which are P1-C3 for one shelf and P1-C3 of another shelf.... (1 Reply)

cfg_subsys_unconfig
cfg_subsys_unconfig(3) Library Functions Manual cfg_subsys_unconfig(3)
NAME
cfg_subsys_unconfig - Unconfigure a subsystem
LIBRARY
Configuration Management Library (libcfg.a)
SYNOPSIS
#include <cfg.h> cfg_status_t cfg_subsys_unconfig(
cfg_handle_t *handle,
caddr_t subsys);
PARAMETERS
Structure identifying the means of communication between your application and the configuration management server. For local requests,
pass NULL in this parameter. For remote requests, pass the value returned from the cfg_connect() routine. Names the subsystem to be
unconfigured.
DESCRIPTION
When a subsystem is not needed, you can use the cfg_subsys_unconfig() routine to unconfigure the subsystem. If the subsystem is loadable,
it is unloaded from the kernel. When a subsystem is unloaded, the memory it occupies becomes available for other uses.
EXAMPLES
The following example illustrates the use of the cfg_subsys_unconfig() library routine:
cfg_status_t retval; cfg_handle_t handle;
retval = cfg_subsys_unconfig(&handle, "presto");
if (retval != CFG_SUCCESS)
print_error(retval);
In this example, the cfg_subsys_unconfig() routine attempts to unconfigure the presto subsystem. If an error is returned, the application
displays an error message.
RETURN VALUES
Upon successful completion, cfg_subsys_unconfig() returns CFG_SUCCESS. Other return values indicate that an error has occurred. For infor-
mation about handling return values from routines in the configuration management library, see libcfg(3).
