Hmmm... I'm not sure if it is the same bug. I'm not running opensolaris (though it may be the same for both) and the problem does not appear to happen at the gnome panel stage but before (where you get the pixilated hourglass, before the nicer gnome loads, I think this is X) and it is not an infinite loop, just 8 minutes or so.
I'm pretty new to all of this new fangled computer mumbo jumbo; technology and electricity and all, but I saw reference in the bug report to a 'truss' file, so I'm going to see if I can't figure out how to make me one of those pretty things. Perhaps that will help.

Simply question which should I use. correct me if I'm wrong but Solaris Express is taking the place of Opensolaris and is officially sanctioned by Oracle and OpenIndiana is what used to be OpenSolaris.
