actually i want to get fully qualified path name of the file when the file name is entered as command line argument while running a shell script
ex. if i run the shell as $./test.sh ./nsdnet_file.csv
the it should display me the full path of the file like

I tried changing my /etc/inet/hosts file for my server to:
<ip address> <hostname> <fqdn>
but when I go to reboot the file changes right back to:
<ip address> <hostname>
how do I get the <fqdn> to stick on a reboot.

So we added a new HP-UX 11.31 machine. Copied OS via Ignite-UX (DVD)over from this machine called machine_a. It was supposed to be named machine_c. And it is when you log in...however when I'm in the ILO console before logging in, it says:
