Isn't that the default for VMware? I remember people having losts of problems with the pcn driver in VMware and choosing a different interface emulation with AE and e1000g were the most frequent. If this is a vmware setup you should probably consider changing the virtual machine in the same way, the VMWare pcn / Solaris combo doesn't ( or at least didn't) work too well.

the internet. The ISDN ip-up/down scripts in /etc/ppp add ippp0
as the default route. From that point on we can for instance get mail

I can 'ping' all the boxes on our network and yahoo.com (but only if I use the IP address I get back from pinging from an xp box). I've setup SunSolaris 10 on VirtualBox, but when I start Sun, I can connect to the Internet, when I open terminal and type command for list device ethernet:
#ifconfig -a
just only see loopback lo0

vmmouse_detect - VMware mouse device autodetection tool
SYNOPSIS
vmmouse_detect
OPTIONS
vmmouse_detect has no options
DESCRIPTION
vmmouse_detect is a tool for detecting if running in a VMware environment where vmmouse is used. It exits with a 0 return value if the
vmmouse client is enabled, and 1 if not.
DIAGNOSTICS
vmmouse_detect's exit status is used to communicate information.
0 vmmouse_detect found a mouse and exited normally.
1 Either the vmmouse client was not enabled, or it is not being run from within a VMware virtual machine.
