You have misunderstood the use of tr, which will interpret the laetters as a list oc characters to delete. If I have understood what you want correctly, replacing the tr with this should work:

I really just mess around in UNIX, for the most part, when I want to get something done. when user select option 2 nothing happen.for testing purpose I put

SYNOPSIS

The <grp.h> header declares the structure group, which includes the following members:
