If the programs produce output You may want to do something like
/usr/local/xgate.ment/xgate.ment stop &> error.log
if You are sure that it will stop and output isn't interesting or read return value and act upon, such as
/usr/local/xgate.ment/xgate.ment stop &> error.log
if [ $? -eq 0 ] ; then echo stopped; else echo Something went wrong, read error.log;fi
I need the line printed with echo to append to eof of to exactly line, am i able to do that?
i mean
echo "sysctl -w lalala=1" > to end of file /etc/sysctl.conf
or to the 21st line, if the line exist, open new line and insert text there.

The problem i am encountering is the process is getting killed before it dispalys the details.The details are displayed using printf.I created a new buffer for printing the details using setvbuf function call instead of output buffer.This is not working.The thing is,killing of the process must be... asadmin-stop-domain, stop-domain - stops the given domain
SYNOPSIS
stop-domain [--domaindir install_dir/domains][--terse=false] [--echo=false] [domain_name]
stop-domain stops the specified domain. If there is only one domain in the default domain directory (install_dir/domains), then no operand
is required to stop the domain. However, if there is more than one domain, the domain operand must be specified. This command is supported
in local mode only.
OPTIONS --domaindir directory where the domain is to be stopped. If specified, path must be accessible in the filesystem. If not speci-
fied, the domainis stopped in the default install_dir/domains directory.
--terse indicates that any output data must be very concise, typically avoiding human-friendly sentences and favoring well-
formatted data for consumption by a script. Default is false.
--echo setting to true will echo the command line statement on the standard output. Default is false.

domain_name name of the domain. Must be a unique name.
