I wanted to export the display of all directories of home with their respective subdirectories and files if any on my local pc.
this home directory is of some remote machine .
using ssh remote login and then using struct direct i can just gate name list of directories .

I want to log into a remote server transfer over a new config and then backup the existing config, replace with the new config.
I am not sure if I can do this with BASH scripting.
I have set up password less login by adding my public key to authorized_keys file, it works.

I have a script that I'm trying to use that will check for files on a remote machine and if there is files copy the files, modify the perm on the copied files, and then delete the files off of the remote server. I have a question about X forwarding. I was told that we can't X forwarding anymore, do to a security checklist.
Example:
bitlord@server1# ssh -X server2
So we have to use the DISPLAY variable now. I thought this was less secure?
