My one problem is not resolved yet I have another.
I am planning to take an OS backup of my p550 using "mksysb". Now i am confussed. suppose I give the command to take the backup into a tape drive and my backup size exceeds the tape capacity.. what will happen? will it ask for... (2 Replies)

Hii can anyone pls tell how to limit the max no of message in a posix message queue. I have made changes in proc/sys/fs/mqueue/msg_max
But still whenever i try to read the value of max. message in the queue using attr.mq_curmsgs (where struct mq_attr attr) its giving the default value as 10.... (0 Replies)

I have several box with aix 5.3. the rootvg in each box has mirror. but I have a cron that makes a mksysb every week.

0512-017 mksysb: Cannot write to the device /dev/rmt3.
Either write protected or in use.
My tape are ready to write ( dont get protection)

Working on AIX 4.2 system. On this server there is no tape drive or a DVD Writer attached to the AIX box.
I was able to do mksysb, but I got warning message saying it will not be bootable.

aebuffy - watch for changes SYNOPSIS
aebuffy [ project-name ] DESCRIPTION
The aebuffy command is used to watch for changes which the current user may be able to act upon. These include changes being developed by the user, and changes which could be reviewed or integrated by the user. If you don't use the project-name command line option, you need to set the AEGIS_PROJECT environment variable, or the default_project field of the .aegisrc file before you invoke this command. This is especially important if you launch it from your X11 session start-up file. Double clicking on a change will invoke the tkaer(1) command for that change. This does not work for changes in the awaiting development and completed states, but works for all other states. Use the "q" key to quit. At the moment it can only watch one project.
